Description
Fonseca 40 Year Old Tawny Port are aged in Fonseca cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Aged Tawny Port wines grow lighter in colour, as they throw their deposit in the cask rather than in the bottle. The process of racking contributes to the oxidation process whereby the wine's fruit qualities gradually diminish and its nutty characteristics are acquired. The wines drawn from this extensive reserve of aged ports are then carefully blended for balance and continuity of style.
